Monkey King

Hey all, sorry for not posting anything new recently, been totally swamped by other schoolwork, but now that things are starting to wind down, I'm finding some time to post some of my art again.

This was one of my pieces for art class. The point of it was to try and combine both my abilties as an illustrator and as a graphic designer. Obviously I have a long way to go in both departments.

It's a modern reimagining of the classical Chinese folk hero, the Monkey King, or Sun Wukong (or Son Goku in Japanese). I imagined that even in modern day, he'd still be a free-spirit, unbound by the confines of the city.
